And again we say, welcome!!!
Your life has been rocky sometimes. You may have experimented with drugs, or abused alcohol. Your relationships have sometimes been rocky too -- both intimate and friendly relationships. Almost certainly you like structure, even if you can't always impose it on yourself; and you like stability -- although the world today doesn't seem to offer much stability, does it? Jobs disappear, the economy is rocky, you aren't even really sure of your retirement -- and what is happening to society? Things are changing, why do things have to change all the time?
Isn't it nice to be able to lean on the everlasting arms of God? Isn't it nice to know that the truth never changes, that it is the same yesterday, today and forever? Isn't it nice to know that the Bible is the only inspired Word of God and that every word of it is true, even though, perhaps, you don't read it as much as you think you should? Doubts can be put aside when they arise, and hope abides, doesn't it?
So, how brave are you? All of us are people of courage to some degree, I am sure. Do you have enough courage to take a long honest look at the faith you have embraced? Do you have enough courage to take a look at the doubts that you have put aside, but that are still always there? If you are right, then you have nothing to lose -- your faith will be renewed and strengthened. If you are wrong -- don't you want to know?
If you are like me, and figure that if you want to buy a lemon, you will -- but you'd like to know its a lemon, then please read through the links on the left -- think about what is said, and most importantly of all -- read the Bible -- cover to cover, without someone else telling you what it means. Your pastor tells you that it speaks for itself, I am sure. Put it to the test. Wouldn't God want you to?
If you are not like me, and have no interest in questioning or thinking about your faith at any depth, then please, forget the questions we have raised, do not read the Bible as I have suggested, and the following link will take you to beliefnet, please go there, forget that you came here, and have a wonderful day. May you be covered in peace.
For those who want to contact us, please feel free. You may contact us either via e-mail (use the contact button on the left or either click on the following link or copy and paste it into an e-mail program: rebuff@rebuff.org, or write to us at the snail mail address given in the footer. We will happily answer any serious inquiry -- though how much time that may take will vary, we are all volunteers. We will not answer hate mail -- nor take it seriously, it will simply be deleted or thrown out -- so wasting your energy and possibly postage is a decision left up to you.
Again, thank you for visiting Rebuff.org and have a wonderful day. May you find freedom, or may it find you.
